INTRODUCING THE LIMITED EDITION 2018 RESERVE BLEND

 

I am delighted to introduce Di Bella’s limited edition 2018 Reserve Blend and detail how we source ethically farmed coffee beans to create an exquisite blend for our customers to enjoy.

 

The 2018 Reserve Blend is an exceptional blend of two high-quality single origin coffee beans sourced from award-winning Camocim Estate in Brazil and the Shyira Washing Station co-operative in Rwanda.

 

Located in Espirito Santo in Brazil, Camocim Estate is world-renowned for its biodynamic farming practices and specific focus on sustainable farming. Biodynamic farming is a holistic and sustainable method of farming that uses the earth’s energy and resources to produce premium crops. The coffee cherry is grown organically in accordance with the moon cycle to indicate the best days for planting and harvest. Camocim Estate was the first coffee farm to produce a biodynamic coffee to be awarded first place in the Cup of Excellence competition in 2017 and, was also the highest scoring coffee of the entire competition season. 

 

Shyira Washing Station co-operative in Rwanda contains the highest grown coffee in Rwanda where the high altitude, volcanic soil, direct sunlight and equatorial mist all contribute to the perfect environment for prosperous harvests.

 

Each coffee cherry is hand-sorted with under-ripe or damaged cherries removed, prior to fermentation which is agitated several times per day with ceremonial foot stomping to clear excess liquid from the coffee bean. Employees are encouraged to partake in song and dance during the ceremonial foot stomping process to promote pride, community and ownership within employees at the station.

 

The result is an exceptional blend of two high-quality single origin coffee beans which are roasted in Australia to create a full-bodied flavour with aromatic undertones of caramel sweetness.
